The Journey Never Ends
The Journey never ends: Endless comings and goings, Spiraling towards Heaven and Earth, Light and Dark, Friends and Acquaintances, Lust wanting so much to love; Mystical light on a seizure of Solstice, Riding into night, never reaching home. Neglected hopes, filled with carnal memories, Crying deep, within the passions of the soul. Human understanding and incomprehension, Swirling about in a pool of serotonin, Sloshing this way and that. Restless dreams, Insomniac visions I thought I’d never know. Alarm Clock, red omnipresent beacon, Grabbing a soul, tossing and turning, Wanting a peaceful night’s sleep; Naught but dreams of cigarettes And twenty-two medications Rolling back into a lover’s-- Rolling back into her broken body. Coffee and sugar try to keep a restless being moving, Lighting the world, if but for an instant-- On a crazy, upside-down roller coaster Of laughs, And tearful understandings of the truth, Tearing one from his own self-motivated ignorance. Worry not about futile impressions. Happiness is useless if it is but a lie; Find a rhythm and harmony in a cacophony of noise. Pain and hardship can make one stronger; And it is beautiful to rest and chill, But don’t lose that part of you That makes you hope, and dream, and cry out! The present is all that exists; We all see each other through our own eyes, Our own vision of the world. We run, and trip -- and fall. The Journey never ends, Even in the light of a brand new day.
